Awaken the sea within!
Seawater is characterized in particular by its salinity, or its concentration of dissolved salts. While its salinity can vary according to latitude, seawater is even more unique for its constant composition. There are approximately 33g of salts in every litre of seawater.
The Quinton method
René Quinton (1866-1925), a French biologist who became widely known in the early 20th century, studied the properties of seawater with great interest. In his book entitled L’eau de mer, milieu organique (Seawater, Organic Medium), he examined the similarities between marine plasma (seawater) and blood plasma.
HMP, hypertonic marine plasma
HMP is produced completely and exclusively from seawater. We collect our seawater from the preserved Natura 2000 site on the Bréhat islands in Brittany.
HMP is obtained by micro-filtration through 0.2 micron, without high-temperature (>100°) sterilisation and without irradiation*, according to the protocol defined by René Quinton.
